Acutrack Acquires Advent Media, Inc

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Acutrack, Inc is proud to announce the acquisition of Advent Media, Inc., based in San Ramon, California. Advent Media is a leader in CD mastering and DVD duplication equipment sales in addition to CD and DVD duplication, printing and fulfillment services. Advent Media was launched in 1996 providing its services to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Acutrack, Inc., located in Pleasanton, CA was founded in 1992 to meet the needs of the entertainment, software and corporate business communities. Acutrack is a full service CD and DVD Production Source.
According to Acutrack's president, Raj Barman, "This is a timely and positive acquisition allowing Acutrack to further expand its portfolio of products and services. Acutrack has recently developed a strategy to sell MediaForm and several other brands of duplication and CD printing equipment. The acquisition of Advent Media will enable us to jump-start this segment of our business with their solid customer base. This acquisition will also insure that Acutrack remains an industry leader.

The combination of Acutrack's services: silk-screened CD-R and DVD-R, pre-production and CD authoring, and DVD replication services, printing, packaging and fulfillment is the perfect compliment to Advent's equipment and supply sales allowing customers to have a true one-stop resource for all small to large production requirements.

How Does DVD Copy Protection Work?
Rights owners seeking to copy protect their programs would instruct Acutrack to set certain digital-analog copy protection trigger bits to "on" during the authoring process When the disc is played back in a consumer's home, these trigger bits activate a Macrovision-enabled digital-analog converter chip inside the player. The chip then applies copy protection to the analog output of the DVD player. This allows for transparent viewing of the original program, but causes copies made on most VCRs to be substantially degraded.

For further information regarding Macrovision copy protection contact the Acutrack sales department at 1-888-234-3472 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
