Advantages of Marketplace Listing

Using marketplaces to help grow your business

This blog shows you options on how to place your products in various marketplaces which allow you to enhance your company’s visibility and ultimately grow business. Although not all of these alternatives may appeal to you, adding one or more of them to your list of selling platforms will undoubtedly increase your sales.

The advantage of Kickstarter, Indiegogo and Wefunder

Websites like Kickstarter, Indiegogo and Wefunder have revolutionized the way a business can fund themselves; these crowdfunding platforms are fantastic and cost-effective vehicles for spreading the word about your brand to a wider and already somewhat receptive audience. Whether you are starting out or are an established business looking for a new venture, these platforms not only give you the opportunity to raise money for your new project, but also help to spread awareness and enhance your visibility.

Indiegogo: Not Just A Crowdfunding platform

Indiegogo is not just a crowdfunding platform. In October 2017, Indiegogo launched Indiegogo Marketplace, a place to sell new and innovative physical products even if you are not using their crowdfunding platform. The marketplace allows you to showcase your products to a special community who genuinely desires to encourage intelligent and creative projects. Recently, one of our clients, Batteroo has had great success showcasing their products in Indiegogo marketplace and have seen an increase in new sales.

The Amazon Marketplace

The Amazon marketplace is a great place to list your products. There is no cost to list a product on Amazon. Instead, Amazon Marketplace sellers pay a percentage of the revenue from their sales to Amazon. The Amazon marketplace is no different than a farmer’s market or shopping mall; a marketplace draws in lots of customers plus the additional layer of single checkout. Acutrack can help you automate the fulfillment process with Amazon’s “Marketplace Pro,” in the same manner as your shopping cart allowing you to keep your inventory in one space.

Amazon’s Launchpad

Amazon Launchpad is a unique platform - it’s a marketplace within a marketplace that enables customers to sift through a wide range of innovative ideas. This allows you to showcase your products through a different perspective. However, there is a huge downside. As a Launchpad vendor, you’ll be expected to take part in Amazon’s “fulfillment by Amazon” service, which means risking shipping all of your inventory off to Amazon and giving away a big portion of your profit to Amazon. That being said, you’ll have to weigh the pros and cons to figure out whether Launchpad is right for you.

And then there is eBay, Bonanza, Etsy, Wish etc.
eBay is a massive marketplace for buying and selling items at fixed prices or through an auction system. eBay offers seller tools and features that make it easy for you to feature your brand in an eBay store. Alternatively, other marketplaces exist which can help to increase your exposure. Bonanza marketplace allows you to sell items in any conceivable category. It has no initial listing fees and low selling fees. Also available is Etsy: a marketplace known as the queen of indie, boho, and handmade items. Unlike other marketplaces, Etsy allows sellers to upload their own store banner and a customized logo. It also allows for promotional videos and photos to share more information with their buyers. Lastly, the Wish marketplace is a far-reaching mobile shopping marketplace that boasts 200+ million shoppers globally.
